What's wrong with my monarda (bee balm/bergamot)?

My monarda is in a large tub and gets direct sunlight from morning til mid-afternoon (3-4ish).

It started the spring perfectly healthy but the last few weeks it's been looking really sickly. The leaves are tinged purple and the lower leaves keep drying up and dropping off. There's a white bloom on some of the stems.

I've been watering it fine and have tried fertilising it (fish, blood and bone) but it hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

You may be fertilizing too much and watering too much. Is there drainage in the tub? Monarda do not like to be overwatered and are prone to fungal disease if they are. Esp. do not get the leaves wet when you water them. I think they do better in the ground than in a container and actually thrive on neglect. They are a native wildflower and usually do best when ignored!
