I think I found a maitake mushroom growing at the base of an oak tree. I read that there are no poisonous?
analogs to this mushroom. It says that it happens just like this at the beginning of fall. I know it is 99% safe to try and eat a small piece. I'm going to eat a very small piece first just in case anything happens. Then if nothing happens over a couple of days I'll try a little more. Does this sound like a good idea? Would I be safe? It says that maitake mushrooms are great mushrooms to begin with for novice mushroomers.
