Can anyone advise me on a few issues i have growing Little Gem lettuce?
I decided to grow some little gem lettuce, but have hit a few problems. I sowed the seeds in small individual pots, and watch them grow produce seedlings about 2 weeks after. At the moment however, the seedlings are about 8cm long, and they have all "layed down" and gone flat, as it appears the stem isn't strong enough to support them. They look to have grown like the leafy lettuce where one large leaf has emerged - is this how they grow? Do i need to transpant them, and bury part of the stem under some compost? Also, the compost has a white edge on the top - looks like a small layer of mould - (i think i over-watered them early on) - could this have an effect? Any help would be appreciated! 
I think your problem was erratic watering, transplant them outside & water them well They should soon recover but you will have to be patient.
