31 almost 32 weeks pregnant and 50% effaced is this bad?
I was told by the doc that my cervix was less than 2cm long and that I am 50% effaced. I am already at risk for pre-term labor due to premature rupture of membranes at 16 weeks(high leek). My cervix is still closed. But I'm wondering if this is too early for my cervix to be thining out and will I start to dialate soon? This is my second baby so maybe it's normal to start thining out sooner in the pregnancy.
The doc didn't put me on bed rest this time. I have been having some very irregular contractions so I'm alittle worried. My first baby went post term so I'm really hoping this baby will not be pre term.
Did you Dr order bedrest? I was 70% effaced at 32 wks and was put on strict bedrest but I also dialated to 3 cm as well. I would try to get plenty of rest and stay off your feet as much as possible until your next visit. The effacement if mixed with pressure (especially if baby is head down) can make the dilation happen and trust me you don't want to be on bedrest in the hospital, talk about boring. Are you having any contractions?
