Will eating the world hottest pepper harm me?
I'm 17 years old and have a healthy stomach and body, will eating 1 Bhut Jolokia do any harm to my body or anything, Besides burning really bad, lol
At about 1.1 million Scoville units, the Bhut Jolokia pepper is hot enough to cause minor chemical burns and can (if eaten quickly enough) cause your throat to close due to the high amount of capsaicin. Chili extracts at that level require a legal form to buy, and I believe the pepper does in many places as well.
It's usually eaten in very small bites, and has the name "ghost pepper" for a good reason. Be careful if you do try this.
