can green/wax beans be started in my new polyhouse in march/april and transplanted to garden in may?
I will continue to directly sow seeds in the ground at the appropriate time.....just want to get a leg up. this year I'll be selling fresh produce at my "home gowing location" as well as setting up elsewhere a couple of times per week.
Beans are generally reputed to not transplant well, but as long as you aren't betting the bank on it, there's no harm in trying. In Zone 5, I wouldn't put them out before mid-May or later.
