Have you ever, A whole Watermelon and Vodka?
So, a friend of mine brought over a whole watermelon to be funny because earlier that day I had told him my favorite food was watermelon when he asked.
Well we were drinking and never touched the watermelon.
Well at work my sister hear about putting Vodka in a whole watermelon.
Which basically is cutting a hole in a watermelon and inserting Vodka on the top and then letting it sit over night.
So basically I want to know if anyone has tried this and if the Vodka actually gets soaked up into the watermelon.
I am doing this tonight and having people over Tomorrow Night, is that enough time y'all think?

All the advice is good, but in addition to letting it soak overnight you should use a bamboo skewer or other long object to create tunnels inside the melon. This will ensure that the vodka is evenly distributed and not all concentrated in one area (would taste bad).
Also, for a standard size watermelon I wouldnt add more than a fifth of vodka (750ml). We tried a handle (1.75L) and it was way too strong. The good news is you can use a cheaper vodka like Smirnoff since the natural sugars in the watermelon will make it tasty.
