how do u take care of a baby watermelon plant? besides watering, and planting it, and hoeing it?
i just got one, and have planted it good, and water it every day, and i have only one, how do u pinch the stalk to make one big watermelon, instead of a few small watermelons? i have a small garden,with flowers, this is the only vegatable in there that i have, and it is a crimson sweet, like i said anything else i need to do?
Since you have only one plant, you may have a pollination problem. you will have to make your plant produce more blossoms first so that you can have fruit and then pinch out the excess. When your plant has about 8 leaves, pinch it back to 4. Then it will branch out and bloom, male and female blossoms. Important is that male and female blossoms bloom at same time. Once first fruits begin to form and are about the size of a baseball, you can remove all the other vines and fruits. Enjoy your little watermelon wonder.
