Best Sellers at The Devil's Garden
Since we started the Devil's Garden we have been able to filter through all the famous brands and products that work best for the public so here is a list of our own bestsellers to give you a good idea of what people like if you're a chilli beginner (or not!):
Chilli Pepper Pete is definitely one of the big players of the chilli world so we couldn't avoid naming them in our bestsellers list. Dragon's Blood is one of the most popular hot sauces, so much so that there is actually a Dragon's Blood flavoured ice cream now available! Made with apples, pineapple and chilli extract, it is scorching hot but deeply flavoursome, just like Chilli Pepper Pete's Dragon's Slayer. With the same level of heat, this hot sauce is fantastic for those with a strong palate but also absolutely gorgeous as it is made with a heavenly mix of prunes, cherries and blueberries.
Hot Headz is another big name and with an impressive list of chilli produce we have to point out Satan's Sweat and Son of Satan's Sweat. These sauces are just insanely hot but awesome in taste but ones which never fail our customers. Hot Headz spices are plentiful and we are in awe of the quality of chillies that they have, either whole or ground, like their Habanero Chilli Powder which is a really scorching mist!
For the nutters out there that want to have a bit of fun, try Endorphine Rush, a hot sauce with the sole purpose of giving you that chilli high that people are so fond of. Same thing with Spontaneous Combustion. The name will give you a good idea of what it's like, surely!
On the milder side, try anything from Dartmoor Chilli Farm. Our personal favourite for chilli beginners, their chilli chocolate is an absolute winner. Start with the dark one and go through all their different flavours from mint and coffee to apricot pieces, fruit & nut, whole almonds, orange, milk and of course our bestseller, dark chocolate with ginger pieces!
Dartmoor Chilli Farm is also great for its jams and marmalade of an incredibly high standard. The Hot Strawberry Jam is just the best we've ever tasted, not only for the actual strawberry taste but also for the heat that slowly creeps in at the back of the throat so gets the scones out! The Seville Orange Marmalade is similar in quality but a tad milder and goes into different varieties such as Whisky & Orange, Three Fruit and of course our bestseller, Lemon & Ginger Chilli Marmalade.
Dave's and Blair's are THE American brands that everybody knows with Dave's Insanity Hot Sauce having a wide range of followers globally and Blair's Original Death Hot Sauce being the next step for Tabasco lovers. Dave's Burning Nuts are definitely not to hand over to your nan but most of you will have a great time in front of the TV with it! For a chilli pick me up, try one of Blair's Death Range Habanero Crisps (or the milder flavours Parmesan & Habanero, Cheddar, Buffalo Wings and Chipotle), only for the bravest amongst you!
Mr Vikki's is one of the fastest growing UK supplier in all things spicy and we should definitely mention Max's Ketchup which is just the best ketchup ever and their North Indian curry paste which is so versatile we can't get enough of it.
A relatively new brand at the Devil's Garden but one that is already proving hugely popular is Chilli Queen. Specialising in Chilli Jellies, their intriguing combinations of flavours is a definite win with a lot of people such as Sundried Tomato & Balsamic Vinegar Chilli Jelly and our bestseller Coriander & Shallot Chilli Jelly. They have also started doing sauces and their Brown Sauce with Scotch Bonnets is just out of this world.
Firefoods is another big player and one that wants to push the boundaries of the chilli world with produce such as Chilli Peanut Butter and Firemite (chilli Marmite!!). Their Fire Mustard is a must-have in your fridge and the Fire Onions have already made more than one grown man cry!
Not a chilli product as such but one we should mention is Greenhouse Sensation's Windowgrow. Would I be able to grow Ghost Peppers and Chocolate Habanero peppers indoors?
I just bought some seeds for the Ghost and Chocolate Habanero peppers and I am in New York right now and the conditions outside are not ideal for pepper growing now. Is it possible to grow these peppers healthily indoors?
Grow? Yes. Get peppers to eat? Not really. They belong outside.
