Chile Hotels: Arica
In Arica, we recommend that you stay at one of two high quality hotels. Both hotels have private beach access, delicious cuisine and a friendly accommodating staff willing and ready to make your Arica travel experience go as smoothly as possible. We know you are looking for a nice place to go home to after full day excursions to Lauca National Park or a comfortable room to duck into during the hottest part of the day when you don't want to get a sunburn.
The Panamericana Hotel in Arica is a beautiful hotel, with private access to El Laucho beach. There is a delicious restaurant which offers a great view of the Pacific Ocean. There are 114 comfortable rooms, 14 suites, 45 superior rooms, 35 standard rooms, and 20 ocean view cabanas. Check-in is at 2pm and check-out is at midday. Panamericana Hotel in Arica is located at 599 Avenido Comandante San Martin.
There is a wealth of services available. For starters, upon arrival, you'll be given a free welcome drink. There is free parking to park your car. Every room has free Wi-Fi internet. Panamericana Hotels have been in operation for 60 years. They have hotels in Ancud, Temuco, Providencia (Santiago), O'Higgins (Viña del Mar), Antofagasta and Arica, the international resort on the beach.
Hotel Diego de Almagro is also a highly recommended Arica hotel. This hotel is the newest high end hotel on the lot. It opened in 2009 and has 166 rooms all fully equipped with modern amenities. Each room has individual temperature control and wifi internet connection. The hotel is in a safe and secure location, close to the airport and Peruvian border and near the Iglesia de San Marcos.
There is a delicious hot buffet breakfast each morning, a hot sauna, beautiful swimming pool and a gorgeous view of the sea. The hotel is located at 3105 Raul Pey Casado in Arica, Chile. Diego de Almagro is a smoke-free property. They have a 24-hour front desk, an outdoor swimming pool, casino, and business center. They have a baby-sitting service, room service, currency exchange and air-conditioned public areas.
Guests of the Diego de Almagro must be at least 18 years old to check-in. There are no room charges for children five years old and younger who occupy the same room as their parents or guardians and use existing bedding. Onsite parking is free for guests only during the duration f their stay.

Best chili dog - This is close, but Nu-Way has to get the nod. The Nu-Way chili dog is a work of art, Grecian chili, onions, mustard, and that great red hot dog. The Varsity’s version is real close - great chili, mustard, and a good dog as well. The one intangible that gives Nu-Way a real edge is that you order their chili dog “all the way.” Since the concept of “all the way” raises wonderful sexual connotations in my mind, I have to firmly give Nu-Way the nod on their offering.
