The information in this perpetual calendar has come from several sources. The main source has been our experience, and our growing records, from the last 5 years here on the farm. Another valuable source has been lore from local "old-timers". These two sources have taught us to see the signs, cycles and patterns provided by God in nature and to plant accordingly. If we begin to recognize these signs on our own lands and in our own gardens, we can then plan our activities to work in harmony with them. We find that then, we are rewarded with abundant harvests, and less problems throughout the gardening season.
We hope that you will use this calendar for many years to record your garden experiences. We believe you will derive great pleasure and healthy benefits from growing some of your own food organically just as we have! So begin now! It doesn't matter if you grow herbs on your windowsill, garden in a few containers on the patio or if you have a huge backyard garden. There are suggestions, hints, and recipes throughout this calendar that apply to you! Use this calendar to create your own special garden and fill it with your favorite foods, herbs and flowers...then...ENJOY!!!
