Ethanol-vs-Gasoline my friend & I were discussing just how many barrels of oil a day does the U.S. use in a?
yr to POWER our autos? How many barrels of ETHANOL would it take to replace the shipments of gas to our country. He says that we would have to MATCH what is imported & then add 10% more because Ethanol gets slighter less mpg. He also says that ETHANOL can now be produced from many many different sources, such as sugar cane, sorghum, wheat, barley, green chlorophyll veges, kelp/seaweed . Folks HEY COME ON this IS ROCKET SCIENCE, Right now we curretly use 15% ETHANOL in our cars because it helps cut dn CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS, Lets "FLIP THE SWITCH" on our FUELING PROCESS over to include all the items listed above. Brazil runs their entire country on ETHANOL made from sugar cane WE CAN DO IT TOO? Lets co-op & build refineries of THE PEOPLE, let's force the gov't to build ETHANOL refineries in our country, let's e-mail & write our pig swilling congressmen & make them get off their PORK swilling behinds & start working for the PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE SO HELP ME GOD
I believe the average person in the USA uses 7500 kg oil equivelent in a year. That's total energy consumption per person. USA is the Winner. Canada comes second @ 7450 kg. These are huge numbers compared to another first world country UK that uses 3900 kg, Brazil is 893 kg.
As far as Brazil goes, they don't even make it into the top 15 for fuel consumption. That's why the can run on Ethanol. Plus if you want the price of bread and other wheat and farm grown products to sky rocket then go ahead convert Americas Bread Basket to grow wheat, barley, corn for fuel. You can run a diesel engine on fish fat too, should we start whaling to get enough blubber? Ethenol is not practical to use on huge scope, like the demand of the USA and other nations require. So sit down, chill smoke one, have a beer and swill a little pork. Theres more to it than flipping the switch.
