Fruits And Vegetables To Eat To Lose A Fat Tummy

A general inclusion of fruits and vegetables in all known forms of diets to lose weight is enough proof that they do wonders to an individual's body. The diet to lose a fat tummy is no exception to this. There are specific products of nature that are guaranteed to help you achieve a flatter tummy. Some of them are:

1 Red tomato: scientifically known as Lycopersicon esculentum, this member of the nightshade family contains lycopene, a powerful antioxidant proven to reduce the risks of heart diseases and certain types of cancer such as prostate cancer. Derivative products such as tomato ketchup, sauce and paste are now manufactured to include lycofibers within.

2 Lemons: also known as Citrus limon, this type of fruit is rich in vitamins C. It also helps lower cholesterol and is able to eliminate toxins in the body which is essential to lose a fat tummy.

3 Orange: Citrus sinensis is rich in pectin, a natural chemical that flushes toxins from beer, cigarettes and coffee. It also aids in the absorption of iron from grilled foods such as fish and meat. A single fruit typically contains about 20 to 60 mg of vitamin C.

4 Pineapple: this tropical fruit, known as Ananas comosus of the bromeliad family is very rich in bromelain, a catalyst that helps in the digestion and breaking down of protein. It is also rich in fiber which is a component that can make you feel fuller. It is even rich in vitamin C, a nutrient vital for stronger bone and teeth development.

5 Mango: Known as Mangifera indica, a relative of cashew in the Anacardiaceae family, this widely cultivated tropical fruit is a potential source of vitamin A. Vitamin A is known to maintain the health of skin cells as well as in the strengthening of the immune system. Mango is also rich in potassium, an element that makes the muscles stronger and lowers blood pressure.

6 Spinach: This annual vegetable known the scientific name Spinacia oleracea is cultivated for its nutritious green leaves that are good sources of iron, vitamin A and vitamin C.

7 Broccoli: Commonly harvested as buds, the edible blooms of Brassica oleracea of the Cruciferae family along with cauliflower, cabbage and collards are also rich in iron, vitamin A and vitamin C.

8 Grapes: Another great fruit to include in a diet to lose tummy fat effectively is grapes. It is known also as Vitis vinifera. Classified as berries, grapes are rich in antioxidants such as resveratrol and polyphenol. They are also rich in potassium and therefore an essential fruit to lower the destructive effects of excessive sodium. About 80% of it is water, making it a good catalyst of hydration and digestion of fat.

Substitute these fruits and vegetables for your usual snacks. Make them part of your big three meals-breakfast, lunch and dinner. The fiber and vitamins within them will help you lose a fat tummy.

Brassica oleracea was a European wild plant. Early farmers were able to use artificial selection...?

on this plant to produce cabbage, brussels sprouts, kohlrabi, kale, broccoli, and cauliflower. This diversification through selection was possible because:

2. exotic species are always more adaptable than the native species in an area.
3. the species contained large amounts of genetic variation.
4. wild plants respond to artificial selection in situations when domesticated plants cannot.

if you could explain this to me also... i'd greatly appreciate it!!

It has to be choice 3. A species that has large amounts of genetic variation has many different phenotypes available. If you start cross pollinating plants based on their phenotype, you are artificially selecting them for those specific traits. This is exactly how Gregor Mendel experimented with pea plants - he would select plants based on their height, flower colour, seed colour, etc. until all offspring showed the desired trait.
